Board of Supervisors Recognizes March as National Social Work Month
The Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors officially recognized March as National Social Work Month at its March 17, 2026 meeting, honoring the dedicated professionals who serve individuals, children, and families throughout Siskiyou County.
The Board adopted a proclamation acknowledging the important role social workers play in supporting the well-being of the community. Through their work, social workers help individuals and families navigate difficult circumstances, connect with critical services, and work toward greater stability, safety, and healing.
Social workers often serve in challenging and complex situations, providing guidance, advocacy, and compassionate support to some of the County’s most vulnerable residents. Their work is essential to strengthening families, protecting children, supporting older adults, and improving quality of life across Siskiyou County. Their service reflects a broader commitment across County departments and programs to care for and support the community.
This recognition serves as an opportunity to thank social workers for their professionalism, dedication, and meaningful public service. Siskiyou County is grateful for the many individuals who carry out this work with compassion, resilience, and a deep commitment to helping others.
