Burn Day Information
Fire Season is still in effect.
- Residential burn permit requirements lifted for piles 4'x4' and smaller.
- Larger piles still require CAL Fire burn permit.
- Cal Fire Burn Permits are required for Agricultural and non-agricultural burning in County areas. Available online at https://burnpermit.fire.ca.gov/
- Contact the municipalities listed under City Residential Burning Information below for their residential burning restrictions.
County Residential Burning:
- The Air Pollution Control District (APCD) does not issue burn permits for residential burning.
- Cal Fire does require permits for agricultural and non-agricultural burning during the fire season. Local fire departments and municipalities may also require permits seasonally or year-round. Burn-barrel use is banned in all areas, contact the District for details.
City Residential Burning Information:
Before you burn check with your local Fire Official or City Hall for residential burning restrictions. The following cities require residential burn permits year-round: Dorris, Etna, Ft Jones, McCloud, Montague, Mt Shasta, Weed, Yreka.
Residential burning is prohibited in: Lake Shastina and Tulelake.
