Public Authority Mission Statement

  • The Mission Statement of the Public Authority is to enhance the quality and accessibility of IHSS by giving consumers and providers a voice in IHSS and the Public Authority and by providing services that support positive and productive relationships.

Public Authority Values Statement

  • The Public Authority believes that IHSS is a necessary and essential service contributing to the dignity, safety, and independence of its consumers.
  • The Public Authority acknowledges the interdependence of the consumer and the provider by recognizing, respecting, and addressing the rights and needs of both groups.
  • The Public Authority acknowledges the importance of protecting the consumers’ right of choice of service delivery options within the IHSS program limits.

Public Authority Services

In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority offers services that assist consumers with greater
access to providers. Public Authority is the provider's employer of record for purposes of collective bargaining for wages and benefits.

The Public Authority maintains a provider registry. A provider registry is a computerized database listing qualified and screened IHSS providers. The Public Authority works closely with Siskiyou County IHSS but is a separate entity.
