Copco Road Project Update: Crews Make Major Progress

Copco Rd Update_September 2025

The Siskiyou County Public Works Department is pleased to share an update on the ongoing Copco Road Repaving Project. In a major show of coordination and teamwork, crews from all six road districts, the Bridge Department, and the County warehouse staff joined forces to begin surface improvement work along the corridor.

Between September 22 and October 8, County crews successfully completed a focused effort to address critical roadway needs:

  • Installed 1.4 miles of leveling courses to help even out the roadway surface
  • Patched the most abrupt and severe potholes between Klamathon Bridge and the Old Hatchery
  • All work was completed in just five working days thanks to a collaborative, all-hands-on-deck effort

This work represents a key milestone in the County’s phased approach to improving Copco Road. While the full repaving project is still ongoing, due to heavy traffic in the area, this recent effort helps stabilize the roadway and improve safety in the meantime.

What’s Next?

The County will continue routine maintenance and surface repairs while preparing for more long-term improvements. Monthly updates will be shared with the community, and Public Works will continue to engage with residents and local representatives throughout the process.
