Fire and Weather-Related Road Closures

Public Works does not maintain this page on weekends or holidays.  If there is an emergency event that requires evacuations, associated road closures will be updated on the Evacuation Map found on the Current Evacuation page.

Oregon Road Closure - Oregon Road, located in Hornbrook is closed at Mile Post 0.55 (150 feet north of the intersection of Henley Hornbrook Road) due to bridge damage. Estimated date of repair will be provided once known. See supporting documents below for a detour map.

McKinney Fire Burn Scar -  CAUTION STATEMENT - During high-intensity rain events, the following county roads may be impacted by debris flows: Hawkinsville Humbug Road, Humbug Creek Road, Yreka Walker Road, Eliza Gulch Road, Middle Fork Humbug Road, Klamath River Road, Barkhouse Creek Road, Walker Road, and Beaver Creek Road. Heed all safety orders.

Construction Delays

Big Springs Road - CLOSURE- Big Springs Road will be intermittently closed for bridge maintenance at the Little Shasta River Bridge at Mile Post 18.5 (approx. 6 miles northwest of the community of Big Springs). The road will be closed during the hours of 8:00 A.M. thru 2:30 P.M., January 12, 2026 thru January 16, 2026. This page will be updated when the work is completed.
