Local Hazard Mitigation Plan

Siskiyou County Office of Emergency Services and its partners are working on a plan to better handle future emergencies and disasters. This updated plan called the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP), will help us deal with things like fires, floods, and other hazards that might come our way. To make sure this plan is as effective as possible, we need your input.

June 18, 2024: LHMP Update Kickoff meeting (Kickoff Meeting Recording)

August 6, 2024: Planning Committee Meeting 1 (Planning Committee Meeting #1 Recording)

September 18, 2024: Planning Committee Meeting 2 (Planning Committee Meeting #2 Recording)

October 25, 2024 - 2:00pm to 3:30pm: Planning Committee Meeting 3 (Planning Committee Meeting #3 Recording)

November 4, 2024: Siskiyou County Hazard Mitigation Plan Public Meeting - Afternoon Option (Please see agenda and slides below)

December 2, 2024: LHMP Planning Committee Final Meeting

December 9, 2024: Plan submitted to CalOES for review.

January 14, 2025: CalOES returns plan. Plan requires changes and resubmission to CalOES.

January 31, 2025: Plan resubmitted to CalOES with requested changes.

February 26, 2025: CalOES returns plan. Plan requires changes and resubmission to CalOES.

March 3, 2025: Plan resubmitted to CalOES with requested changes.

March 5, 2025: Plan received by FEMA, 45 day review period begins.

April 14, 2025: FEMA reports that plan is approvable pending adoption.

(Scheduled) May 14, 2025: Meeting scheduled "Local Hazard Mitigation Plan incorporation into Safety Element Meeting" pursuant to CA Govt Code 65351.
