Siskiyou County Animal Shelter

Animal Control has endeavored to adopt a no-kill philosophy and has increased the live release rate for our shelter to more than 90%!  The majority of animals entering our facility are either redeemed by owners, sent to partner rescues, or adopted into new and loving homes.

Pet Adoption

The fees to adopt are as follows:

  • Dog adoption- $40.00
  • Cat adoption- $20.00
  • If the animal is not spayed/neutered yet, there is an additional $40.00 deposit fee that is refunded after the animal has been altered.
  • If you reside in an unincorporated area of Siskiyou County, there is an additional $10.00 license fee for dogs.

Moore - 29142

This boy is up for adoption! Moore is a friendly and playful boy who's ready to bounce his way into your heart and home! The adoption fee is $40 with an additional $10 for licensing if you live in the unincorporated area of the County. Moore will be neutered, microchipped and have his rabies.

Maximus - 29297

Meet Maximus, a ray of sunshine in dog form! This young lad is an affectionate and loyal companion, always ready to brighten your day with his playful and funny antics. Maximus is a true people-pleaser, eager to show his love and warmth to those around him. With a heart as big as his playful spirit, he is sure to be a loyal friend to his future family. After a few stitches and a change in diet, he's on the mend. He will need to remain on a grain free, sensitive skin diet. We don't know what happened to Maximus before he was picked up, but we do know that nothing has dampened his spirits. He's very deserving of a happy, healthy home.
