Siskiyou County Animal Shelter

Animal Control has endeavored to adopt a no-kill philosophy and has increased the live release rate for our shelter to more than 90%!  The majority of animals entering our facility are either redeemed by owners, sent to partner rescues, or adopted into new and loving homes.

Pet Adoption

The fees to adopt are as follows:

  • Dog adoption- $40.00
  • Cat adoption- $20.00
  • If the animal is not spayed/neutered yet, there is an additional $40.00 deposit fee that is refunded after the animal has been altered.
  • If you reside in an unincorporated area of Siskiyou County, there is an additional $10.00 license fee for dogs.

Introducing, Jax! This boy is waiting patiently for his person. Jax is around a year old and about 25 pounds. He loves his toys and would really enjoy an active lifestyle. If you're interested in Jax, please fill out an adoption application and staff will reach out to you. The adoption fee is $40 with an additional $10 for licensing if you live in the unincorporated area of the County. Jax will be neutered, microchipped and have his rabies. If Jax isn't quite what you're looking for then please, share, share, share! Let's get this boy into a forever home!!!
