Siskiyou County Welcomes California State Treasurer Fiona Ma

Treasurer Ma Visit

The County was pleased to welcome California State Treasurer and Lieutenant Governor candidate Fiona Ma for a visit to communities throughout the county.

Led by Siskiyou County Supervisor Nancy Ogren, Treasurer Ma toured several locations that highlight the investments, partnerships, and projects contributing to the continued growth and success of Siskiyou County. Stops included the newly renovated Carnegie Library in Yreka, now home to the Siskiyou Economic Development Council, Fairchild Medical Center's expansion project, the Randolph E. Collier Safety Roadside Rest Area along the Klamath River, and the Siskiyou County Fair.

The visit provided an opportunity for County representatives and local partners to showcase the work being done to strengthen Siskiyou County, including efforts to support economic development, expand access to healthcare, improve public infrastructure, and celebrate the community traditions that make the county unique.

Hosting state leaders allows the County to share both the opportunities and challenges facing rural Northern California while highlighting the importance of continued collaboration between local and state government. These conversations help ensure that the needs, priorities, and perspectives of Siskiyou County communities are represented and understood.

The County appreciates Treasurer Ma taking the time to visit and learn more about the people, organizations, and projects that are helping shape the county's future. The County also extends its thanks to Supervisor Nancy Ogren and the many community partners who helped coordinate the visit and showcase the outstanding work taking place throughout Siskiyou County.
