Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors Recognizes National Hunting and Fishing Day - September 26, 2026

The Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors has proclaimed September 26, 2026, as National Hunting and Fishing Day, recognizing the longstanding traditions of hunting and fishing and their importance to our local communities, economy, and natural resources.

Hunting and fishing have been an important part of Siskiyou County's heritage for generations. From providing food and supporting families to creating opportunities to connect with nature, these activities continue to play a meaningful role in our rural way of life.

The proclamation also recognizes the contributions of hunters and anglers to wildlife conservation and responsible land management. Through license and permit fees, California hunters and anglers help support healthy ecosystems, wildlife populations, and the stewardship of public and private lands.
