County of Siskiyou Recognizes 25th Anniversary of First 5 Siskiyou Children and Families Commission
At its regular meeting on May 6, 2025, the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted a proclamation recognizing the 25th anniversary of First 5 Siskiyou Children and Families Commission.
Since its founding, First 5 Siskiyou has been instrumental in advancing the health, development, and school readiness of young children in Siskiyou County. Over the past 25 years, the Commission has invested more than $15 million into programs and services supporting early childhood education, intervention, literacy, and family support.
With a focus on diversity, equity, innovation, and partnership, First 5 Siskiyou continues to make a lasting impact by strengthening families, supporting early educators, and creating opportunities for children to thrive. Through collaborative efforts with local agencies, schools, healthcare providers, libraries, and community organizations, the Commission offers critical resources such as parenting classes, playgroups, developmental screenings, and literacy tools at no cost to families.
The Board of Supervisors commends First 5 Siskiyou for its leadership and commitment to building a stronger, healthier future for the children and families of our region. The County encourages all residents to join in honoring this milestone and in supporting the continued work of First 5 Siskiyou to foster a vibrant and equitable community.
