Bridging the Digital Divide in Siskiyou County

PSA2 Computer Handout Event

Members of the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors recently joined community partners to distribute 50 refurbished laptops to older adults across the county as part of AT&T’s California Summer of Connectivity initiative.

The event, organized in partnership with PSA 2 Area Agency on Aging, Human-I-T, and AT&T, aimed to help bridge the digital divide by providing local seniors with access to technology and online resources. Supervisors participated in the distribution events, personally handing out computers and connecting with residents from the Siskiyou Senior Nutrition Program and Madrone Senior Services.

These efforts are part of a statewide initiative to expand digital access and opportunity, especially in rural communities like Siskiyou County, ensuring that residents have the tools they need to stay connected, informed, and engaged.

The County extends its appreciation to AT&T, PSA 2, Human-I-T, and all local volunteers who made this event possible.
