Board of Supervisors Recognizes Karen Goyeneche for 26 Years of Public Service

As part of a newly launched initiative to celebrate employees retiring after 20 or more years of service, the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors formally honored Karen Goyeneche, Deputy Public Guardian/Conservator/Assistant Public Administrator, at its regular meeting on May 6, 2025.

Ms. Goyeneche began her career with the County in 1999 and has served with excellence in a variety of roles, including Court Clerk, Legal Secretary, Legal Office Coordinator, and ultimately in her leadership position as the Deputy Public Guardian/Conservator/Assistant Public Administrator. Throughout her career, she demonstrated exceptional professionalism, dedication, and compassion—earning the respect of colleagues, community members, and the families she supported.

Her work involved managing conservatorships and decedent estates with care and responsibility, playing a critical role in protecting individuals’ property and upholding their dignity during vulnerable times.

The Board expressed its deepest appreciation for her commitment and lasting contributions to the County and its residents.

Ms. Goyeneche’s retirement marks the continuation of the County’s new recognition program, designed to honor and thank employees whose long careers have helped build and strengthen Siskiyou County.
