Siskiyou County Honors Brenda Harris for 25 Years of Dedicated Public Health Service

The County of Siskiyou proudly recognizes Brenda Harris, Deputy Director of the Public Health Division and Director of Nursing, for her 25 years of exceptional service to the residents of Siskiyou County.

Brenda's career in public health has been defined by unwavering dedication, compassionate leadership, and an enduring commitment to community well-being. She began her journey with the County as a Public Health Nurse, quickly rising through the ranks due to her clinical excellence and strong leadership. Her promotions—from Senior Public Health Nurse to Supervising Public Health Nurse, Public Health Manager, and ultimately to Deputy Director—reflect the deep respect and trust she earned throughout her career.

Before joining Siskiyou County, Brenda served her country in the United States Navy, where she laid the foundation for a meaningful and impactful career in nursing and public health.

One of the most defining moments of Brenda’s career came during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. As Siskiyou County confirmed its first local case in 2020, Brenda led with grace and resolve, guiding the Public Health team through one of the most challenging public health crises in modern history. Her calm leadership and deep compassion helped protect and support countless families during a time of great uncertainty.

Brenda has always credited her success to the extraordinary Public Health team she has had the privilege to work alongside—sharing a common goal of helping individuals and families lead healthier and more holistic lives.

As she enters retirement, Brenda looks forward to new adventures: writing a cookbook, enjoying time with her family, and spending more days outdoors hunting and fishing with her husband.

The Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted a proclamation on July 8, 2025, expressing the County’s deepest gratitude for Brenda’s service and wishing her joy and fulfillment in the years to come.
