Scott Valley Airport Reopens Following Temporary Closure for Firefighting Support

Scott Valley Airport Reopens

Siskiyou County, CA — The County of Siskiyou General Services Department is pleased to announce the reopening of the Scott Valley Airport (A30) to general aviation following a temporary closure in support of critical wildfire response operations.

The airport was closed to non-emergency air traffic to allow the United States Forest Service and other partner agencies to conduct aerial and ground firefighting operations in the region. During the closure, the airport served as a central hub for aviation and logistical support, including helicopters, fuel and maintenance vehicles, and the coordination of supplies to firefighters operating in remote areas.

“The Scott Valley Airport played a vital role in supporting emergency efforts to contain local wildfires,” said Adam Filippone, Director of General Services. “We commend the dedicated County staff and fire personnel who worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of our community during this time.”

Siskiyou County, in coordination with federal and state partners, continues to monitor conditions and stands ready to support wildfire suppression efforts as needed. The County appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during the airport’s temporary closure.
