Press Release - Register to Vote
The September 14, 2021 California Gubernatorial Recall Election is fast approaching and
Siskiyou County Clerk Laura Bynum encourages all eligible voters to participate in this
election.
The deadline to register to vote is August 30, 2021 and the quickest way to register to vote is
online at registertovote.ca.gov. Voter registration cards are also available at the County
Clerk’s Office, libraries, and post offices throughout the county. To insure timely delivery of
election information, a voter should register to vote when they move, change their name or
change their political party affiliation.
Mrs. Bynum also wants to remind voters that their specific voting location is listed on the back
page of their County sample ballot/voter information guide. For this election, all registered
voters will receive a vote by mail ballot and ballots will enter the USPS mail system the week
of August 16th.
Mrs. Bynum encourages voters who choose to return their ballot the Clerk’s Office or to any
polling place on election day, to do so in person, or have someone they know and trust to
return their ballot and not entrust their ballot to a stranger to return. If voters wish to vote in
person at their polling place, Mrs. Bynum recommends they save the vote by mail ballot they
receive in the mail to surrender at the polls on Election Day.
The Siskiyou County Clerk’s Office has relocated to 311 Fourth Street, Room 201, Yreka; and
is open Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; telephone (530) 842-8084.
